GApps for Android 10 is the minimal Google Apps variant available for any Android 10 based custom ROM.

On Android 10 the rootfs is made to be accommodated in the system which is known as system-as-root. The GApps script must be aware of this system-as-root concept to be able to push various Google Apps to the system partition. I have verified this GApps to be system-as-root aware and hence compatible for Android 10.
Pure AOSP or LineageOS 17 or any Android 10 custom ROM does not contain any Google proprietary apps due to copyright reasons. So, users running one of these Android 10 custom ROMs may need to install GApps after installing the custom ROM.
GApps is an external package of apps, basically Google Play Services and other Google apps which can be flashed through a custom recovery such as TWRP.
