Xiaomi, OnePlus, Oppo, and a total of 7 OEMs Created a File Transfer Alliance for Better Cross Device File Sharing

Recently with the release of MIUI 12 we have seen many features that arrived with the update. Mi Share is one such cross device file sharing protocol that was introduced.

Mi Share is a file sharing protocol that allows a user to share files between compatible devices from other OEMs. Initially Xiaomi, Oppo, Realme and Vivo were in that alliance.

That means, from a Xiaomi phone running on MIUI 12, you can easily share files with other compatible Oppo, Vivo, Realme and Xiaomi Laptops.

Just after a month of that update, now OnePlus, Meizu and Black Shark also joined in the alliance making it a 400 million user base.

Some High Lights of this File sharing Protocol

This works on key pass mechanism. This means it does not require to install any 3rd party application on the device.

  • Supports multiple file formats.
  • High Speed Wifi P2P transfer.
  • Supported on around 400 million

As of now there is no more information available on this. I will come up with more updates on this technology once something comes out officially.

Stay tuned to get more updates like this.
