A couple of months back, Vivo has launched its new device under the iQOO branding here in India. It was called Vivo iQOO 3 and was available in both 4G and 5G models. Unlike some other smartphones, the chipset was the same in these two devices. Its pricing was at Rs 36,990, and from this month, they increased to Rs 38,990 due to the changes in Goods and Services Tax (GST) for smartphones from 12% – 18%. And, earlier today, the brand has announced a price cut for its 4G and 5G smartphones.
Yesterday, the brand itself had announced that the iQOO 3 would be receiving a price cut, and asking to guess. Today, the brand has announced 4,000 & 2000 price cuts for its 4G and 5G models, respectively. An excellent move by the brand since the competitive device is launched by its sister brand OnePlus. We don’t know how the brand can give price cuts since they couldn’t sell well because India has gone into lockdown during March itself. Only essential commodities are allowed to sell through e-commerce platforms like Flipkart and Amazon. So, this pricing will be valid only when the lockdown ends.
