Infinix Smart 5 was launched on August 13, 2020 globally! It comes with a pretty impressive hardware at a very lower cost. The smart 5 can be a good competitor to the likes of Redmi & Realme C series.
It features a 6.6-inch IPS display which is a large enough display and will provide a great gaming experience. It has a resolution of 720×1,600 pixels and comes with a refresh rate of 60Hz. This display is great for watching movies and playing games. There’s nothing fancy here just the regular Infinix display found on rest of their devices.
In terms of cameras, the global variant comes with a triple rear camera setup while the Nigerian variant carries a dual rear camera setup. For the global variant, the setup includes a 13MP primary sensor with two QVGA sensors. On the front, the Infinix Smart 5 comes with an 8-megapixel sensor. Its camera is pretty good for a low-priced phone. The camera is nothing out of the blue, as we would expect phones like Realme C3 & Redmi 8A to perform much better.
The global variant comes with an unspecified 1.8GHz processor, this seems to be a little disappointing news from Infinix as their competitors have much better specs at this price. The Infinix Smart 5 is supposedly having 3Gb of ram and 64GB of internal storage. In this price segment we have phones like RealMe C3 which comes with much much better processor and graphics unit.
It has a massive battery of 5,000 mAh which supports a 10W charger. It is an impressive battery which will be enough for a day easily and it will get fully charged within 2 hours. These days budget phones are coming with much better capacities and this seems to be a move in right direction!
Infinix Smart 5 looks like a decent deal for this price, but we feel you would be better off with phones like RealMe C3 or upcoming Redmi 9A. Infinix could have gone for better specs at this price point, performance shouldn’t be an issue thanks to the lighter Android GO edition.
