In this OnePlus 2 Oxygen OS 3.0 installation guide I will provide you the download link and the actual installation process to update your OnePlus 2 to the latest community built Oxygen OS 3.0 which is brought to you by Naman Bhalla. OnePlus 2 was launched with Oxygen OS 2.0.0 based on Android Lollipop if I am not wrong. And now this is your turn to get the Oxygen OS 3.0 BETA version built on Android Marshmallow 6.0.1.

So, what’s the update on the Oxygen OS 3.0 for OnePlus 2 ?

The Oxygen OS 3.0 update comes with the all new OnePlus Camera UI, New wallpaper picker, Improved Shelf UX, General system performance improvements, Fingerprint performance improvement, and March security patches.

Where are the Downloads for the OnePlus 2 Oxygen OS 3.0 BETA ?

TWRP download link [This is a modified TWRP which is NEEDED even if you have TWRP]

Here is the guide if you want to ROOT OnePlus 2 On Oxygen OS 3.0.

Any pre-requisites do I need to follow before upgrading the OnePlus 2 to Oxygen OS 3.0 BETA ?

    – Your OnePlus must have Oxygen OS 2.2.x before flashing the Oxygen OS 3.0.
    – Take proper backup of your data. It’s always a good idea even if we don’t erase anything.
    – Modified TWRP file mentioned in the downloads section if you already have a TWRP installed.
    – Make sure you have enough charge on the battery and you have enough time to this.

    DISCLAIMER:
Before proceeding further you may consider backup your all data. Understand that YOU are the only person making changes to your phone. Neither we nor the developer can be held responsible for the disaster that may happen to your device after following this guide.

Enough!!! Now tell me how to install OnePlus 2 Oxygen OS 3.0 BETA ?

I understand that you are eager to upgrade your OnePlus 2 to the latest Android Marshmallow with the Oxygen OS 3.0 BETA version, but you need to take some important measures before you go to the next step. Make sure that you have the Oxygen OS 2.2.x or else flash the Oxygen OS 2.2.1 on OnePlus 2 and also make sure that you have downloaded the zip file. If you are done then you can move on to the next steps.

Below are the following scenarios how you can upgrade to OOS 3.0. Select the procedure whichever fits more appropriate for you.

    1. Guide for stock users. Locked Bootloader, Stock Recovery, No Root.
    2. For users with TWRP recovery

Upgrade instructions of OnePlus 2 Oxygen OS 3.0 for STOCK USERS:

If you are not willing to wipe your data, then follow the instructions:

    • Copy the Oxygen OS 3.0 Zip file in the Internal Storage.
    • Power Off Your Phone and boot into recovery by pressing power + volume down button while rebooting.
    • Select English or any other language as per your preference.
    • Select Install from Local.
    • Select the Zip.
    • Click on Install.

If you want to have a clean flash, meaning you are ready to wipe all of your precious data (User data and all apps) then you can Wipe Data and Cache before upgrading or installing the Oxygen OS 3.0 zip. This step will erase all the data on your phone and hence you should take a backup if you feel your data is precious to you.

Wait for the installation to complete and then reboot your phone to enjoy the Android Marshmallow touch with the Oxygen OS 3.0.

Upgrade instructions of OnePlus 2 Oxygen OS 3.0 for TWRP users with other ROMs than Oxygen OS Marshmallow:

You must be calm and should not be in hurry while executing at least this set of instructions. Please don’t blame me because the developer has designed so. I can’t do much on this.

Here you have to do many things than you have thought:

    1. Install the Oxygen OS 3.0 using the older TWRP first.
    2. Install the New Modified TWRP img.
    3. Then install the Oxygen OS 3.0 again using the modified TWRP.

Follow these steps if you are OK with a clean flash:

    • Copy the Oxygen OS 3.0 Zip and the modified TWRP zip file in the Internal Storage.
    • Power Off Your Phone and boot into recovery by pressing power + volume down button while rebooting.
    • Wipe -> Advcanced Wipe -> Select Dalvik, System, Data, Cache -> Swipe to wipe.
    • Go to TWRP Home. Select Install. Select Oxygen OS 3.0 Zip. Swipe to Install.
    • Go to TWRP Home. Select Install. Select Images button at bottom right. Select modified TWRP img. Select Recovery. Swipe to Install.
    • Go to TWRP Home. Reboot -> Recovery. Wait for the new TWRP to jump in.
    • Wipe -> Advcanced Wipe -> Select Dalvik, System, Data, Cache -> Swipe to wipe.
    • Go to TWRP Home. Select Install. Select Oxygen OS 3.0 Zip. Swipe to Install.

Follow these steps if you don’t want to erase data:

    • Copy the Oxygen OS 3.0 Zip and the modified TWRP zip file in the Internal Storage.
    • Power Off Your Phone and boot into recovery by pressing power + volume down button while rebooting.
    • Wipe -> Advcanced Wipe -> Select Dalvik, System, Cache -> Swipe to wipe.
    • Go to TWRP Home. Select Install. Select Oxygen OS 3.0 Zip. Swipe to Install.
    • Go to TWRP Home. Select Install. Select Images button at bottom right. Select modified TWRP img. Select Recovery. Swipe to Install.

Wait for the installation to complete and then reboot your phone to enjoy the Android Marshmallow touch with the Oxygen OS 3.0. Here is the guide if you want to ROOT OnePlus 2 On Oxygen OS 3.0.
