    How to Install LineageOS 17.1 on Mi 8 Lite?

    Following are the two sub-sections of this Mi 8 Lite LineageOS 17.1 update guide:

    1. First time installation of LineageOS 17.1 for Mi 8 Lite
    2. Upgrading LineageOS 17.1 for Mi 8 Lite from a previous build of LineageOS 17.1 ROM

    Download and Install LineageOS 17.1 for Mi 8 Lite for the first time:

    1. Boot into the TWRP Recovery to install this Mi 8 Lite LineageOS 17.1 Android 10 based custom ROM.
      [su_note note_color=”#D7E3F4″ text_color=”#728095″ radius=”3″ class=”” id=””]- By now your phone must have an unlocked bootloader to proceed with other steps. If not, unlock the bootloader first, install a TWRP and proceed ahead.[/su_note]
    2. Wipe the data partition, Cache partition, vendor partition and system partition.

    3. ADB Sideload the LineageOS 17.1 zip file for Mi 8 Lite.

    4. Once done, reboot into the TWRP recovery again.
    5. Then install the LineageOS 17.1 GApps package.

    Upgrading from earlier version of LineageOS 17.1 for Mi 8 Lite (olive):

    1. Boot into Recovery to flash the updated LineageOS 17.1 for Mi 8 Lite
    2. Wipe the system partition from the TWRP recovery menu.
    3. ADB Sideload the LineageOS 17.1 zip file for Mi 8 Lite.

    4. Reboot and see you have the GApps and ROOT access or NOT.

    5. If you don’t have GApps after upgrading the LineageOS 17.1 on Mi 8 Lite, then flash the GApps.

    6. If you don’t have ROOT after upgrading the LineageOS 17.1 on Mi 8 Lite, then flash the SuperSU or Magisk or the Lineage SU binary.

    Hi, thanks for sharing it.

    I found something weird here. Every time my phone reboots, it shows the following message when I try to unlock it with my fingers: “Fingerprint hardware not available”.

    I reconfigure it, put my fingers again in the security configuration a it came back to work, but I have to do this Every time I reboot the phone.

    Do you have any clue about it?
