    LineageOS 14.1 for Honor 5A Nougat ROM

    REQUIRED LINKS AND FILES FOR THIS LineageOS 14.1 for Honor 5A ANDROID NOUGAT CUSTOM ROM INSTALLATION:

    Root binary is NOT inbuilt in LineageOS ROM, so you may need a separate SuperSu package or LineageOS su binary to install to gain ROOT access. Here is LineageOS 14.1 Rooting guide
    If there is no in-built ROOT or it does not work for some reason then you can try SuperSU rooting guide to enable ROOT access.

    HOW TO INSTALL/DOWNLOAD/FLASH/UPDATE THE Honor 5A TO THE LineageOS 14.1 BASED ANDROID NOUGAT ROM:

    1. Follow this if you are flashing LineageOS 14.1 on the Honor 5A (persimmon) for the first time, or coming from another ROM:

      Points to NOTE:
      – Try to avoid restoring apps backup using Titanium Backup. It may break things up.
      – Don’t restore system data using Titanium Backup! It will definitely break the current installation.
      – It is also discouraged to Restoring Apps + Data using Titanium Backup.

      • Download and Copy the GApps and the LineageOS 14.1 for Honor 5A Nougat ROM ZIP to your phone.
      • Boot into Recovery.
        Make sure to have a Custom recovery like CWM or TWRP or any other custom recovery. If not then download the recovery for Honor 5A from above link and follow the Mediatek TWRP recovery installation Guide (it’s a generic guide which will work for TWRP as well as CWM recovery or any other recovery)
      • Wipe data factory reset, Cache partition, Dalvik Cache and Format the System partition.
        – Here is a guide explaining how to wipe data using TWRP recovery.

        This will delete all your data on your phone. You may consider complete backup of your phone data or take a NANDROID backup of the current ROM
        – How to backup all data on your Android Device
        – how to take NANDROID backup using TWRP recovery

      • First flash the LineageOS 14.1 for Honor 5A Nougat ROM ZIP from device. Then flash the GApps zip from your device memory.

      • Then reboot into recovery (don’t skip this) and flash the Gapps for LineageOS 14.1 package.

    crDroid is like LineageOS on steroids. Yes, it provides many more features, customizations etc. unlike the stock LineageOS which is kind of a clean installation without much of customization.

    I have the verizon lg g3 vs985, Im not sure if I can root my phone anymore because i’d like to use a 3rd party rom. my old phone years ago was a us cellular samsung s3 on CyanogenMod. My main question is there another rom i can use with the phone i have now? My software version is VS9854CA

    Galaxy S3 AT&T CM13 (cyanogenMod 13) Marshmallow ROM (Device Codename: d2att, i747) goes official on CyanogenMod servers. Official NIGHTLY build are automated builds which makes sure the build is not broken by daily code changes made by developers. NIGHTLY builds are not stable as compared to SNAPSHOT builds and may contain some minor bugs. Here is some brief explanation of the difference between a NIGHTLY and SNAPSHOT.

Before proceeding further you may consider backup your all data or take a NANDROID backup using a recovery.     2. Boot into Recovery.
      – Make sure you have a latest custom Recovery that should be able to install the LineageOS 16 ROM update.
    3. Format or wipe the system partition from the custom recovery menu.

    This Galaxy S3 AOSP Marshmallow ROM (Android 6.0 Marshmallow for GT-i9300), is an Android Open Source Project (AOSP) custom ROM based on Android 6.0.0 built by developer brainelv. This an early build of Marshmallow and has many bugs which makes this ROM unusable as a daily driver.     Installation guide of Galaxy S3 AOSP Marshmallow ROM:

    STEP 1:

    Copy the ROM and GApps zip file to your phone (By using a USB cable or via adb push command).

    STEP 2:

    Enter into recovery mode by pressing your device specific key combinations.
    Or else if you are on a pc with USB driver and adb installed, then type the following command:

    $ adb reboot recovery
    STEP 3:

    Wipe system partition, cache and data partition. [IMPORTANT]

    STEP 4:

    Select the Install Zip from SDcard option.
    Select the Galaxy S3 AOSP Marshmallow ROM zip file and let the installation complete and then reboot and then flash the GApps package and reboot to enjoy Android Marshmallow 6.0 on the Galaxy S3 i9300.
