Root binary is NOT built-in in any custom ROM. And, so does the GApps. So you may need install relevant packages after you update the Realme X to Android 11.

How to Install / Update Android 11 on Realme X?

  1. Download TWRP recovery for Realme X from the above downloads section.
  2. And then, install TWRP on Realme X

    This step requires to unlock bootloader on Realme X
  3. Restart the phone into TWRP recovery mode and Wipe data, Cache, System partition and clean Dalvik cache.
    Below is a step-by-step guide on how to wipe data using TWRP recovery

    Don’t wipe or format Internal memory here. If you do, you will lose all data on your phone like the pictues, music, contacts, messages etc.
    – To be on the safe side, backup all data on your Android Phone before wiping anything.
  4. Download one of the Android 11 ROM available for Realme X, then copy the file to the phone to install using TWRP or use ADB sideload to install.

  5. Download and install Android 11 GApps using TWRP or any other recovery.
    This step is an optional but if you don’t install GApps, you will not have Play Store, hence you will not be able to install any applications.
  6. Once done, reboot your phone and enjoy Android 11 on Realme X.
  7. Optionally, restart your phone into TWRP recovery mode and install magisk or Android 11 rooting package to enable ROOT.
    This step is not necessary to run Android 11 but if you want ROOT on the Realme X Android 11 ROM, then you need to follow this step.
