Asus starts recruitment of Android 11 Beta for Zenfone 6 (6Z)!

A few years before, Asus was one of the best smartphone vendors in the Indian market. But the brand didn’t release any mid-rangers after Zenfone Max Pro M2. There are a lot of buyers in India who buy only mid-range devices. However, Asus continued to release its flagship devices i.e. normal & gaming smartphone here in India. They have recently unveiled its Rog Phone 3. The brand is all set to unveil the new Zenfone 7 within a week. One thing which Asus is poor is in software updates. Although they provide updates, they aren’t the quickest to do that. Interestingly, they have started registration of Android 11 Beta for the Asus Zenfone 6. Most of the other OEMs have already pushed Beta 2 updates for their devices.

Since Asus does some improvements in each of their updates, we can expect something in the future. That said, Asus Zenfone 6 is known as Asus 6Z in India. This is because Asus can’t release smartphones under Zenfone in India due to a case by a brand. Talking about the software update, Asus has already pushed a major update for the 6Z i.e. Android 10. So, the upcoming Android 11 will be the final update for the device. Asus has almost dropped its ZenUi with the pure stock Android.

The 6Z is also known for its flip cameras, which will offer the same quality for the front as well as real. The upcoming Zenfone 7 aKa 7Z will also have the same feature. Coming back to the Android 11 Beta update, for this, you should be in the version number 17.1810.2008.171. For enrolling in the beta programme, go to Settings. Now navigate to “System Update”, and tap the three dots which you can see in the top right. Tap on the option named “Enroll in the Beta Test Program.” You will receive notification after September 4, if you are selected for the same process.

The beta recruitment will continue until September 4, and anyone who owns 6Z can apply for the same. Except for the version number requirement, the other criteria is that the device should never be unlocked. Maybe, those who have relocked after unlocking may not be eligible for the same. We will update the article, once the brand starts pushing updates.
